Just came across a neat little site, Kongregate is billed as the gamer’s Youtube and whilst it’s not there yet, it’s not a million miles off.

When I logged on, there were 481 people playing online. Admittedly that was at 11 O’Clock but still, hardly a mass market. The site does, however, offer an interesting collection point and quality filter for the myriad branded games that are out there.

As traffic increases on the site (it’s relatively new, and still in beta), so the increased number of “voters” should improve the quality filter and, with any luck, force flash developers to push the envelope with what they’re doing.

I could quite easily see the site ending up as a centre for best practice and a testing ground for flash games. Whether anyone can top good old yeti sports however remains to be decided.
